Beginning from your 2nd year as student, you will be admitted by and registered with University of London, independently of KBTU. You will be required to take University of London exams on 4 full (or equivalent) units at the British Council (http://www.britishcouncil.org/ru/kazakhstan.htm) in Almaty in May/June. These examinations will be sent back to London for grading. If you successfully pass these exams, you will be considered a full-fledged University of London student - a qualification that is highly sought after across the world.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is the only university in the UK specialising in the study of social sciences. It has a worldwide reputation in its field. The UK's Higher Education Funding Council has rated the majority of the School's departments and institutes in its top two categories of excellence in research, departments have achieved outstanding results in the HEFCE/QAA teaching quality assessment/subject review exercises; and a range of authoritative and independent assessments have judged the School to be among the world's leading institutions for the study of social sciences.
The LSE is KBTU's partner in the establishment and operation of the International School of Economics and Social Sciences (ISE). Project Director (Amos Witztum) and Project Advisor (Martin Anthony) are involved intensively in developing the academic experience of the ISE and to guarantee the highest international standards are applied.
Several weeks per year LSE professors visit ISE to give guest lectures to the ISE students and to discuss teaching and research issues with the ISE professors.
